How We Do It
The Teaching-Engine home installation files have been broken up into smaller downloads. The largest files are about 55 Mbytes. If a high speed internet connection is available, these files can easily be downloaded.
There are two situations anticipated. One is that the computer which is viewing the website is the one that is to get the installation, then the files are downloaded and installed. If it is desired to install the program on one or more other computers, then the means is provided to download and easily copy them to a drive, including a removable flash drive.
Simply click the "Download Wizard" link above to start the process. After following the prompts to save and run, a window will appear with a table of files and a description of their functions. The first file is the basic program and needs to be downloaded and installed first. When a file is finished downloading, a small dialog box will appear with two tick boxes. You can choose to install on this computer, copy to a hard drive or flash drive or both. Follow the prompts to make a folder for the files for saving.
The downloading system has been tested on the Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari Browsers. The downloading screens that come up on these browsers differ somewhat, but the main idea is to download and run the files as prompted.
These files can be used to install the Teaching-Engine program on any number of machines. The installation will be complete but limited to 25 uses for each module within the program. After 25 uses, that particular module will cease to open. To continue using the program it must be purchased. See the website for information on purchasing.
When the program is purchased, an activation code will be supplied which will unlock the limitations. That activation code is only applicable to that one computer and will not work on any other computer.
